The poker run will be the first of a series of fundraisers to bring this special swing to Cottleville.

Letter from a Citizen
Thursday, 08 July 2010

Actual letter received by the fire chief:

Dir Sir,
I would like to thank the Cottleville Fire and Rescue of your assistance with my mother. She fell down her basement stairs and was stranded with a broken left femur and right radius for 22 hours. She was lying in her own waste and the people that came to her house were both professional and kind to an old woman. Further, when I realized that the house was locked and I was unable to gain entrance I dialed 911. By the time I hit the end button I could hear the sirens. They were there within three minutes. I cannot imagine such a response time but thank God for it. She will have surgery tomorrow morning to fix both breaks and I know that she will make a full recovery due in part to the heroes that assisted her this afternoon. Please pass along my gratitude to the kind, professional, and heroic people of the Cottleville Fire and Rescue. Please contact me if you need any further information on the accolades, or if there is anything I can do to further express my gratitude. Sincerely,
(Name Kept Private)
