Ken Meadows is a 10 year veteran of Cottleville Fire District. Ken is one of the most active firefighters in the district. He currently or has previously worked on the district's planning committee, insurance committee, labor-management committee, truck committee as well as many other committees. It is not uncommon for Ken to spend several hours on his off-duty days working on initiatives to improve and progress the Cottleville Fire District. Ken has served in many different capacities as a labor representative for the Cottleville Firefighters and the firefighters across the metro area. Ken is a strong advocate of labor/management collaboration in pursuit of mutual goals, such as financial stability and improving upon the level of service provided to residents. However, Ken may be best known for his commitment to superior customer service. For example, Ken volunteered his time to become a certified car-seat installer and has spent countless hours helping hundreds of expecting mothers with their car seats. In addition, he always goes out of his way to help those who are in need whether that means helping to change a tire or giving stickers and showing the firetruck to children. As a firefighter, Ken is deeply respected for his extensive knowledge and bold aggressiveness.
